Your data is yours: EVERYONE keeps what it needs to run the network and keep the record whole, shows you all of it, never sells it, and never uses it for advertising.
This is what EVERYONE keeps about you, why, who can see it, where it is held, how long it stays, and what you can do about it, read from the running system. It is part of the Terms.
Preliminary, 27 October 2026. This is how EVERYONE works today and the agreement it proposes. It takes effect when it is final and this mark is gone.
Updated 27 October 2026
In shortEverything below, in eight lines.
- Every word you say to a guide or to E1 is kept, as you said it, before the answer comes. The core team reads it.
- EVERYONE keeps your email address and first name, how you signed in, and what you do, so the record knows who said and made what.
- Your words go to an AI model provider to make each answer. EVERYONE does not use them to train AI.
- Passwords, card numbers and identity documents are never collected.
- Your data is never sold and never used for advertising. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
- You can see what EVERYONE holds about you, take a copy, correct it, choose how far your words reach, withdraw them, and ask for your data to be deleted.
- Today nothing is set to expire; setting periods for how long each kind of record is kept is forming.
- Write to core@everyone.team about anything here. A person answers.
Who is responsibleWith counselEVERYONE LLC decides how your data is used and answers for it.
EVERYONE LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, is responsible for the personal data described here (the controller, in the words of data protection law). Write to core@everyone.team about anything in this policy.
Where a channel's owner, an author or another partner holds a relationship with you of their own (for example the people who chose to stay in touch with a maker), that partner answers for what they do with it, under the consent you gave.
What is kept, by what you doWith counselFormingOnly what each thing you do needs: who you are when you sign in, what you say and bring, what you agree to, and a few settings in your browser.
When you visit
The host that serves the site keeps its own short logs of each request (your device's network address, the page, the time and your browser) under its own terms. When you ask for something that could be overused, such as an email code, an invitation or a place on the network, EVERYONE keeps a count for that day against a fingerprint of your device's network address, so one place cannot ask too often; one older sign-up form keeps the address itself beside its count. When someone opens a link shared with them, only the time it was opened is kept.
Forming A record of each visit, kept with a proof that it is unchanged, is being built. Before it starts, this section says exactly what it keeps and for how long.
When you sign in
Your email address and first name; each way you sign in that you have linked (email code, or an account such as Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, GitHub or X); which invitation you opened and when; who invited you; your level, any roles and anything given to you; and when you last signed in. For an account from another service, EVERYONE keeps only a confirmation that you control it, never its password or its access keys. Identity, data and credit has the detail.
When you talk with a guide in a room
Every line you say and every line the guide answers, with the time, the room and a fingerprint of your email; and the whole conversation as your page last held it. Your words are kept before the guide is asked to answer; if they cannot be kept, the guide does not answer.
When you talk with E1
Every message you send, the page and section you were on, and the time, with either a random identifier your browser makes or your member identifier.
When you use your voice
Your browser turns your speech into text, and the text is kept as above. Some browsers do this on their maker's own servers, under that maker's terms. EVERYONE does not keep the sound.
When you agree to something
Your name and email, the room or page, the date and time, the exact text you agreed to and its fingerprint.
When you write, react or bring something
Your notes and where on a page they sit; your own versions of a shared text; your reactions and views and the section they are on; your suggestions, with their links and reasons; pieces you bring, with their credits, your choices about how far they reach and your consent; pictures you bring, cleaned of location and camera records before they are kept; your contributions to a living edition and whether you allow its author's team to read your conversations with its agent; your messages to the core team and their replies; and your requests for a call. Each is kept with your name or its fingerprint and the time.
When you ask for an invitation
Your name, email, why you asked, how you found EVERYONE, and what was decided.
When you speak with the core team
What you tell the core team, in messages or in conversation, may be kept as notes in the record of the work.
Names shared in confidence
In a room that holds lists of names in confidence, the lists and every version of them.

Why it is kept, and the legal basesWith counselTo run the network you asked to use, to keep the record of who said and made what, to keep people safe, and to meet the law.
| What EVERYONE does with it | Why the law allows it |
|---|---|
| Sign you in, open what you may open, and keep your account safe | To provide the service you asked for |
| Keep what you say and bring, with your name, so credit and provenance hold | To provide the service you asked for; your consent for what you choose to share further |
| Answer you through a guide or E1 | To provide the service you asked for |
| Read what people say and bring, to understand what the network needs and to decide what is shown | EVERYONE's legitimate interest in running the network well and safely |
| Record agreements, invitations and decisions, with proofs | To provide the service; EVERYONE's legitimate interest in a record that can be checked |
| Send email you asked for, or that your account needs | To provide the service you asked for |
| Keep people safe, prevent abuse and keep the network working | EVERYONE's legitimate interest; legal obligations |
| Meet legal duties, and answer lawful requests | Legal obligations |
Where EVERYONE relies on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, for the future. Where it relies on a legitimate interest, you can object, and EVERYONE stops unless it has a compelling reason the law recognizes.
Beliefs and other sensitive things you shareWith counselWhat you say about your faith, your politics, your health or your life is yours to share, kept only as you said it, and never used to sort or profile you.
EVERYONE is a place to talk about what people believe and hope for, so what you say may reveal your faith, your politics, your health or other things the law treats as sensitive. You choose what to share, and nothing asks you for it.
What you share is kept as you said it, used only for the purposes above, and given the same reach you chose for it. It is never used to sort you into a category, to build a profile of you, or to decide what you are shown beyond what you yourself said or chose.
Where the law asks for your explicit consent to keep such things, sharing them on EVERYONE after reading this is that consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by asking for those words to be withdrawn.
Who can see itWith counselThe core team, the guide of your room, the people you share with, and the services that run the network. Nobody else, unless you choose or the law requires.
- The core team reads what people say and bring, including through their own AI tools, which help them read the record and keep it whole. Some conversations in the core team's own room are kept from other members of the team.
- The guide of your room, and E1, read what the room or page holds in order to answer you.
- People in your room see what is shared in that room.
- A channel's owner or an author sees what you bring to their channel or edition, and reads your conversations with their edition's agent only if you allow it.
- The group deputized to help decide, once it is formed, reads views and reactions about the guardrails and the decisions it is asked to help with.
- The services that run the network, below, which hold data for EVERYONE and only as EVERYONE directs.
- Nobody else, unless you chose a wider reach for something you gave, or the law requires it.
Your reactions and views are never shown to other readers. Your own are always visible to you.
The services that hold itWith counselA handful of services run the network for EVERYONE, each holding only what its job needs.
| Service | What it does | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Hosts the site and stores the records the network keeps, with a nightly backup | Everything described under What is kept |
| Supabase | Email codes and Google sign-in; EVERYONE's own database | Your sign-in account; a copy of the network's records |
| Anthropic | The AI model behind the guides and E1 | Each question and the recent conversation, sent to make an answer |
| Resend | Sends email | The address and message of each email sent |
| The account you choose to sign in with | Confirms it is you | What that service's own terms say |
| An identity and proof service | Confirms sign-in through other accounts, and issues proofs | The confirmation of a sign-in, and fingerprints; never your email, name or words |
| GitHub | Holds EVERYONE's private knowledge base, the record of the work | Words people chose to offer to the record, and notes the core team keeps |
Each service works for EVERYONE under its own terms and its commitments on security, and may not use your data for its own purposes. When a service is added or changed, this list changes first.
Proofs and fingerprintsA proof lets anyone holding a record check it is unchanged. It carries fingerprints, never your email, name or words.
When you agree to something, open an invitation or say yes to a shared text, a proof of it is made. A proof holds a fingerprint of you and a fingerprint of what was agreed, so anyone holding the original record can check it existed at that moment, unchanged, and nobody can read your email, your name or the text from the proof itself. Proofs are kept private.
A fingerprint is a short code computed from something (your email, a text) that cannot be turned back into it. Identity, data and credit says more.
How long it is keptWith counselFormingToday nothing is set to expire, so the record stays whole; you can withdraw what you gave or ask for deletion at any time, and set periods are forming.
EVERYONE keeps a record that is added to and never rewritten, so who said and made what stays true. Today every kind of record described here is kept with no set end, and the nightly backup holds all of it.
Forming A period for each kind of record (conversations, backups, sign-in records, requests) is being set, with counsel, and will be listed here.
Withdrawing. When you withdraw something you gave, it comes out of every view and every use, and a dated marker holding none of it shows that something was withdrawn.
Deleting. When you ask for your data to be deleted, EVERYONE removes your personal data from the network's live records and database within 30 days, keeping only what the law requires it to keep and the dated markers. Backups made before your request are overwritten as they cycle, and until then are used only to restore the network.
Forming The backup cycle that overwrites old copies is being set; until it is, EVERYONE removes your data from the backups by hand on request.
What EVERYONE never doesWith counselNever sells your data, never uses it for advertising, never tracks you across the web, never trains AI on your words without your yes, never sorts you into categories.
- Never sells personal data, or shares it for anyone's advertising.
- Never advertises to you based on your data, and sets no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
- Never collects passwords, card numbers or identity documents. Invitation links and connection links are kept only as fingerprints.
- Never trains AI on what you say or bring without your separate yes. The AI model provider EVERYONE uses does not train its models on what is sent to it, under its terms.
- Never sorts you into categories. What you are shown is chosen from what you said or chose, never from a type assigned to you.
- Never shows your reactions or views to other readers, or your conversations to anyone outside the core team and the people named under Who can see it.
What you can doWith counselFormingSee it, take a copy, correct it, choose its reach, withdraw it, delete it, object, and complain to an authority.
- See and take a copy of what EVERYONE holds about you, in a format you can take elsewhere: signed in, Download yours at the foot of any page gives everything kept in your name as one file, up to ten times a day.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Choose the reach of each thing you give: within EVERYONE, with partners, or public.
- Withdraw anything you gave, and any consent.
- Delete your data, as How long it is kept describes.
- Object to a use based on EVERYONE's interests, or ask EVERYONE to pause a use while a question is settled.
- Close your account, and leave with your record.
Ask through E1, in your room, or at core@everyone.team. EVERYONE confirms it is you before acting, answers within 30 days, and tells you if it needs longer and why. Someone you authorize may ask for you. Asking is free, and never counts against you.
Because EVERYONE never sells personal data or shares it for advertising, there is nothing of that kind to opt out of. A browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal is treated as asking for exactly that, and it is honored.
If you are not satisfied, you can ask for the answer to be looked at again, and you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Forming A page showing your own record in plain words, with the withdraw button, is being built. Today the copy downloads, and every other request is done for you by a person.
ChildrenWith counselEVERYONE is for people 18 and older, and does not knowingly keep data about children.
EVERYONE is for people 18 and older. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger. If it learns it has, it deletes it. A parent or guardian who believes a child has given EVERYONE their data can write to core@everyone.team, and it is removed.
A piece that shows a person under 18 is accepted only with a parent's or guardian's agreement in writing.
Where it is heldWith counselFormingIn the United States, with copies kept safe off the host.
The network's records are held in the United States, by the services listed above. If you use EVERYONE from elsewhere, your data travels to the United States to be held, under the protections the law requires for such transfers.
Forming Encrypted copies of the records, held off the main host, are being set up so the record survives the loss of any one service.
Keeping it safeWith counselEncrypted in transit, signed sign-ins, secrets kept only as fingerprints, access limited to the core team, and you are told if something goes wrong.
Everything travels encrypted (HTTPS). Each sign-in is signed so it cannot be altered. Invitation links, connection links and codes are kept only as fingerprints. Access to people's records is limited to the core team, and every change to who may see what is recorded. Each service above keeps its own protections.
No system is perfectly safe. If a breach affects your data, EVERYONE tells you without undue delay, says what happened and what it is doing about it, and tells the authorities the law requires.
Cookies and your browserA few cookies that keep you signed in and remember what you opened, and two settings. No advertising, analytics or tracking.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| ev_room | Keeps you signed in to the rooms | 60 days |
| ev_net | The same sign-in, for the network's pages | 60 days |
| ev_acl | Remembers a link someone gave you to open one thing | Until the link ends |
| ev_pass | Remembers a preview link you were given | Until the link ends |
| ev_gate | Remembers that you entered a password at the front door, while one is asked | Until the end of that day |
| The sign-in service's record | Kept in your browser's storage while you are signed in | Until you sign out |
| ev-theme | Remembers light or dark | Until you clear it |
| ev-e1-id | A random identifier for your conversations with E1 when you are not signed in | Until you clear it |
These are needed for the network to work, so they are set without a banner. When you press play on a piece from another platform, that platform's player loads and follows its own terms and cookies.
Changes to this policyDated, shown before they apply, and asked again where your consent is needed.
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes and EVERYONE shows you what changed before it applies. A change that would use your data in a new way asks for your consent first. Every version is kept.
