When enough people share a belief, it becomes infrastructure. Shared beliefs create currencies, nations, legal systems, religions, markets, movements, institutions. Every structure we live inside began as a shared belief.
If I do not believe a different future is possible, I will not imagine it. I will not orient toward it. I will not act toward it. I will not find others acting toward it. We cannot build anything. This is the self-sealing loop: we do not try because we do not believe. Things do not improve because we do not try. Our non-belief is confirmed. The cycle tightens.
Extrapolation masquerades as destiny. The reading of current conditions hardens into a prediction about all possible futures. And once that happens, belief collapses. This is learned helplessness at civilizational scale.
