Use evidence where it exists. Acknowledge mystery where it doesn't.

We do not hide behind claims we cannot support. We distinguish clearly between what is known and what is believed. This is how trust is built.

We are scientific and empirical where evidence exists. We acknowledge mystery where it doesn't. We do not pretend certainty we don't have. We do not claim knowledge we lack. Some things are known. Some things are unknown. Some things are unknowable. We tell the truth about which is which.

Trust is the foundation of everything we are building. Trust requires honesty. The moment we overstate our case, make claims we cannot support, or pretend confidence we do not have, we forfeit trust and we deserve to. The hope space and the meaning space are filled with people making unsubstantiated claims. We must be ruthlessly distinct from them.

The Evidence Hierarchy: Empirically demonstrated, we state with confidence. Theoretically grounded, we state as framework. Intuited but unproven, we state as hypothesis. Unknown, we acknowledge openly. Unknowable, we honor the mystery.

Before making any claim, identify the best argument against it. If we can't articulate the counterargument, we don't understand our own position well enough.

Our Uncertainty Language: We believe (not we know). The evidence suggests (not this proves). One possibility is (not this is how it works). We don't know (when we don't know). Our credibility is our most important asset. It is built slowly and lost quickly. Every overstatement depletes it. Every honest acknowledgment of uncertainty builds it.

This guardrail keeps us honest. It prevents us from claiming expertise we don't have. It prevents us from manipulating through false certainty. And it creates the conditions for real dialogue, because dialogue requires admitting the other person might know something we don't.
