Even if we fail to prevent civilizational disruption, even if the worst scenarios unfold, the same recognition this document argues for may be our best chance to endure, adapt, and rebuild through collapse rather than succumb to it entirely.

Societies that maintained social cohesion, mutual aid, and shared identity through crises fared dramatically better than those that fragmented. Even if we give everything and it is not enough. There is something that happens to people who try together that does not happen to people who give up alone. It changes who you are.

Communities with strong social capital (trust, networks, shared identity) are more resilient to climate shocks than wealthier communities without them.
