1.4 Methodologies and Frameworks (Trade Secret / Copyright)
These proprietary methodologies represent some of EVERYONE's most valuable intellectual property. They are protected as trade secrets through confidentiality agreements and access controls.
- Belief Engine: 6-stage transformation methodology (Despair → Recognition → Threshold → Possibility → Agency → Coordination). A structured approach to moving people from resignation to active participation
- Belief Scaffolding: Layered methodology for meeting people where they are and building toward agency through progressive engagement
- Transformation Journey: 8-phase journey map for audience experience, from initial encounter through sustained engagement
- Content Selection Criteria: Five criteria for evaluating creative submissions to the SHIFT campaign
- Four-Layer Platform Architecture: Private Canon → Inter-Intelligence Partner → Public Belief Companion → Public Collaboration Engine
1.5 Software and Technology
EVERYONE has built a growing portfolio of proprietary technology:
- Belief Companion AI: A proprietary conversational AI system deployed at everyone.team. Trained on the full EVERYONE philosophical canon (56 original arguments, the complete book manuscript, and all website content, among other non-disclosed sources). The system uses a Socratic engagement model designed to meet people where they are and guide them through short, meaningful sessions. It improves and learns with every user interaction, building an increasingly sophisticated understanding of how people engage with the philosophical framework. The underlying system architecture, training methodology, and prompt engineering represent significant proprietary IP
- Membership and Authentication Platform: Custom-built membership system with user profiles, role-based access control, and a 5-tier permission hierarchy. Supports signup, login, editable member profiles with auto-generated member numbers, and public profile pages
- Investor and Collaborator Infrastructure: Role-gated portal system with dedicated hubs for collaborators and investors. Includes a digital NDA gate (one-time confidentiality agreement required before accessing any protected materials), invite system with role assignment and email notifications, and an organized data room with 20+ documents across five categories
- Gated Document Pipeline: Automated build system that converts canonical source documents into styled, access-controlled web pages. Supports role-based gating, dynamic confidential banners, and section-level content management. When source documents are updated, the pipeline regenerates the corresponding web pages automatically
- Content and Feedback Systems: Chat engine, feedback collection system, and content delivery infrastructure powering the public-facing website
1.6 Data Assets
- Canon Archive: Version-controlled archive of 18+ organized folders containing every document, decision, and iteration since the project's inception. Functions as both institutional memory and evidence of prior creation with timestamped history
- User Interaction Data: Growing dataset of user interactions with the Belief Companion AI, providing insight into how people engage with the philosophical framework
- Feedback and Engagement Data: Structured feedback collected from site visitors and community members
2. CURRENT PROTECTION STATUS
Already Protected
Copyright exists automatically from the moment of creation for all written works, code, and creative content. EVERYONE LLC owns copyright on everything in the canon and all website code. No registration is needed for copyright to exist, though registration strengthens enforcement and is required before filing an infringement lawsuit.
Trade secrets are protected through the confidentiality infrastructure described in Section 3. The Belief Engine methodology, transformation journey, belief scaffolding framework, AI training methodology, and other proprietary methodologies qualify as trade secrets as long as reasonable confidentiality measures are maintained.
Common law trademark rights exist for EVERYONE and EVERY1 through active use in commerce (website, team wear, partnerships).
Not Yet Protected. Action Required
Federal trademark registration has not yet been filed. While common law rights exist through use, federal registration would provide stronger nationwide protection. Key marks to register: EVERYONE, EVERY1, EVERY1 logo, and SHIFT in relevant classes (entertainment, apparel, media platforms). "EVERYONE" as a common word adds complexity but protection is achievable through use in specific commercial classes. Trademark registration is a priority next step.
Copyright registration has not yet been filed for any works. While copyright exists automatically, registration enables statutory damages (up to $150,000 per work) and is required before filing an infringement lawsuit.
Patents: The AI Belief Companion system and its training methodology could potentially have patentable elements. Worth discussing with IP counsel.
3. CONFIDENTIALITY INFRASTRUCTURE
EVERYONE has implemented multiple layers of protection for its intellectual property:
Digital NDA Gate: All collaborators and investors must sign a confidentiality agreement before accessing any protected materials on the platform. This is enforced automatically: the NDA overlay appears on first access to any hub page or gated document. Once signed, the agreement is stored permanently on the server and is never shown again. The NDA terms require recipients to keep materials private, use them solely for evaluation purposes, return or destroy materials on request, and acknowledge that EVERYONE retains all intellectual property rights. The agreement has a two-year term.
Role-Based Access Control: The platform enforces a 5-tier access hierarchy. Different materials are available to different roles, ensuring that sensitive documents (financial models, legal agreements, IP details) are only visible to authorized individuals. Investor-level documents are separated from collaborator-level documents.
Confidential Document Banners: All gated documents display a prominent confidential banner: "Confidential Draft. For investor/collaborator review only. Not for distribution."
Version-Controlled Canon: The canonical document archive maintains a timestamped history of all content creation and modification, serving as evidence of prior creation and ownership.
Copyright Notices: Standard copyright and confidentiality language is applied to all externally shared documents:
© 2026 EVERYONE LLC. All rights reserved. This document is confidential and proprietary. Shared for evaluation purposes only. Not for reproduction, distribution, or derivative use without written permission.
4. RISK ASSESSMENT: SHARING IP WITH PARTNERS
As EVERYONE expands its network of collaborators, creative partners, and investors, the need to share confidential materials increases.
Lower risk factors:
- Copyright already protects the written expression of all ideas
- The voice, specific language, and articulation are deeply original and difficult to replicate
- The digital NDA gate ensures every person who accesses materials has signed a confidentiality agreement
- The canon archive with timestamped history provides strong evidence of prior creation
- Role-based access ensures people only see what is relevant to their involvement
Higher risk factors:
- Ideas themselves are not copyrightable: only their expression is. Someone could take the concept of "belief as infrastructure" and build something adjacent
- Campaign names and frameworks could be adopted without attribution until trademarks are registered
- As the team grows and more people gain access, the surface area for potential leaks increases
Mitigation in place:
- All partners sign NDA before accessing any materials
- Documents are watermarked with confidential banners
- Access is role-gated and tracked
- Canon archive provides provenance
Mitigation still needed:
- Federal trademark registration (priority)
- Copyright registration for core works
- Founder IP Assignment Agreement (founder assigns all prior work to EVERYONE LLC. Critical for investors)
- Creator Collaboration Agreement template for any co-created content (defining IP ownership before work begins)
5. PRIORITY ACTION PLAN
Phase 1: Immediate
Already completed:
- Confidentiality infrastructure built and deployed (NDA gate, role-based access, confidential banners)
- Copyright notices added to all gated documents
- Canon archive maintained with timestamped history
- Domain ownership verified (everyone.team, every1.team)
Still needed:
- Consult with IP attorney (entertainment/IP specialist recommended)
- Founder IP Assignment Agreement: Founder assigns all prior work to EVERYONE LLC. This is critical for investors and should be executed as soon as possible
Phase 2: Near-Term (Within 30 Days)
- Register copyright for the 10 Truths + 9 Guardrails (as a single literary work)
- Register copyright for the book manuscript
- Register copyright for the Belief Engine methodology
- File intent-to-use trademark for EVERY1 (logo) in Class 25 (apparel) and Class 41 (entertainment)
- File intent-to-use trademark for SHIFT in Class 41 (entertainment)
- Begin trademark search for EVERYONE in relevant classes
Phase 3: Before Fundraising Closes
- Execute Founder IP Assignment Agreement
- Founder IP Representation Letter
- File trademark for EVERYONE in Classes 25, 41, 42 (if search is clear)
- Creator Collaboration Agreement template (attorney-reviewed) for any co-created content
- Contractor/Creator IP Assignment clause for any paid work
Phase 4: Ongoing
- Register copyrights for new major works as created
- Monitor for trademark infringement
- Execute NDA/collaboration agreements with every new partner
- Update IP inventory as new assets are created (quarterly)
6. COPYRIGHT NOTICE LANGUAGE
